SCA artists celebrate SCA 07, our 10th year as SCA, 22nd year including OC VA. Graciously hosted by founding member Janet Adams, our potluck accomplished the following:

Election of the 08 board of volunteers:
Thom Wright – Pres
Marilyn Todd – VP and Membership
Paula van der Lans – Treas
Laurie Sequeido – Sec, plus alternates
Randall Holbrook – SCA Webmaster

Discussion of 08 goals:
a. More focus on our artwork
b. Membership growth – invite your artist friends
c. Maintain our non-profit status and community support
d. Better communication using our website and blog messaging – all members are encouraged to check weekly at www.southerncaliforniaartists.com and contribute art news
e. Membership participation to make events happen – no permanent chairpersons
f. Alternating days of the month and locales for meetings/programs. A weekday evening, then a Saturday morning schedule
g. Better artist networking – invite SCA and interested friends to meetings, informal meetings of groups with common media and interests

Next meeting in January 2008:
a. Planned for Thursday, Jan 17, place and time to be announced
b. Discussion of year’s plans
c. How to be an effective smaller group
d. Review of SCA members survey
